James B. "Jim" Parker, c.s.a. ------------------------------------ C.S.A., P.O.W., Veteran, and member of, The "Hancock Rebels" Organized in March 25, 1862 by Captain D. B. Seal at Hobolochitto (now Picayune). The Hancock Rebels became, Company C, 38th Mississippi Infantry, C.S.A. seeing action at Corinth, Iuka, and Vicksburg, the Unit was Mounted in 1864 and served under General Nathan Bedford Forrest at the Battle of Harrisburg. Twenty-one "Rebels" died during the war.
