Bio

Rolly Arnold Spring Rolly Arnold Spring, son of Arnold and Dolly Lawrence Spring, was born March 11. 1920, in Sully County, South Dakota, and passed away suddenly Feb. 15, 1986, at Corning, Iowa, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 4 days. He moved to Brooks, Iowa, with his mother and four sisters in 1926 after the death of his father. It was here he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage with Barbara Bennington June 1,1947. They were blessed with two daughters, Cathy Jean and Candis Ann. Roily farmed in the Brooks area most of his life. He was a loving husband and father and a loyal friend to those who knew him. He was treasurer of Mt. Zion Church for over 25 years; a member of United Presbyterian Church of Corning and Masonic Iroquois Lodge No. 590; served on the Watershed Board; Soil Conservation; Extension Council and was an elder of the church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and all sporting events, participating in his younger years and later as a spectator. Preceding him in death were his parents; and two sisters Leona and Vera. Survivors include his wife. Barbara; two daughters Cathy Jaschke and husband Terry of Fontanelle. Iowa, and Candis Schillerberg and husband Dale of Denison. Iowa; five grandchildren, Daron, Dered and Clint Shellerberg of Denison and B.J. and Mitch Jaschke of Fontanelle; two sisters, Erma Bauer and husband Paul of Tucson, Ariz., and Doris McPherren and husband Morris of Corning: and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held at the Gauthier Funeral Home in Corning Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Rummer officiating. Masonic rites were conducted by John Riegel of Iroquois Lodge No. 590. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Quincy, Iowa. Music was furnished by Dorothy Cook, organist, and Hartford Cooper, vocalist. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Goodvin and Mrs. Bob Bell. Casket bearers were Don Waiter, Duaue Simmons, Russell Hedinger, Tom Haley, Albert Hedinger and Franklin Walter. Honorary bearers were Randy McPherren. Paul Bauer, Jr., Tom Matya, Russell Brown, Merle Suntken. James Herbert, Edward Gidley, Earny Hamman. Bill Sinning, Marlyn Gray, Ted Russell, Gene Herring, James Walter, Sr.'and Bob Bell.
