Sarah was born in England and immigrated to America in 1850. Sarah was the wife of Samuel Batty and was married on 7 June 1851 They were the parents of 13 children but by 1900, only 9 survived including Samuel, Benjamin, George,Mary, Joseph, Sarah, Hannah, Lucy,and Bertha,
