Bio

--------------------------------- Fred Vap, son of Mr & Mrs Frank Vap was born in Dolni Loucke, Moravia, September 9, 1869 and departed his life in this world December 29, 1936 at 3:15 a.m. at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 20 days. Mr Vap came to the United States at the age of fourteen years with his uncle, Ignacious Vap , finding work in Clay county, Neb. There he received a job of herding cattle for a farmer, remaining there for for a period of four years. He then came to Kansas finding work in Rawlins county. After saving his earnings for several years he purchased a farm of his own where he lived until his death. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Miss Francis Pochop. To this union there were born eleven children, of whom Helen, Ladislav, Marie and Adolph preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Mrs. Frances Vap of Atwood; one daughter, Sr M. Floriana of Chicago, Ill; six sons, Joseph F. Elijah, Rudolph and John of Atwood; Lewis G. of Chardon; Fred Jr. of McCook, Neb. seven grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. The funeral was held at St Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Mr Vap's six sons acted as pall bearers. He was laid to rest in the St. Cyril and Methodius cemetery. ---------------------------------
