Bio

RIGSBY, BILL, born October 5, 1933,passed away after a brief but hard-fought battle with cancer on September 23, 2004. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle. The only comfort for his broken-hearted family is that he has gone to the mansion prepared for him by his Lord; a place where there is no pain or suffering, where the fairways are always green, and where his much-loved son is waiting for him to ease the way. Bill was full of enthusiasm for life and was not afraid to try new things. He was a family man who was always generous with his affection for his wife and children. Bill was a fun person who could always make people laugh. Bill was a business management major at North Texas State College in Denton and then went on to later receive his MBA from Pepperdine University. Bill spent his early life on a farm close to Celina, Texas. He met his future wife, Beverly, at North Texas State. They were wed one year later and were the loves of each others lives for 49 years of marriage. He always said he "grew up" at Texas Instruments where he began working in 1959 and from where he retired in 1996. While at TI, he made a host of friends and touched the lives of many people that will forever remember him with fondness. He is survived by a loving family: wife, Beverly; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Rick White; sister, Norma Garrett; parents -in-law, Mozelle and John Carlisle, and many loving nieces and nephews for whom he cared deeply. Bill was preceded in death by a son, Tony; parents, Henry and Euna Rigsby; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Abby Rigsby; and a sister, Leta Johnson. Pallbearers will be his son-in-law, his nephews and friends. Eulogies will be by two dear friends of many years, Brooks Mitchell and Chuck Neilson, for whom he felt a true brotherly love. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 27, 2004 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Family to receive friends from 3-6 PM on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Restland Funeral Home.
