Cistern. - Mrs. Anton (Victoria) Psencik, 80, died in the Holmes Hospital, Gonzales, at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, December 8, 1968. The body rested in state in Marrs Funeral Chapel, Smithville. Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Edmund J. Bily led a parish rosary which was followed by a KJZT Rosary led by Mrs. John Otahal and Mrs. Alvin Vinklarek. Wednesday, December 11 at 10 a.m. a Requiem Mass was offered by Rev. Edmund Bily, who also officiated at the grave side service in the new Church Cemetery. Dennis Gosch and Chris Janca were servers. Six nephews, Joe Zrubek, Emil Spicak, Adolph Kremel, George Prochaska, Willie Stryk and Emil Jansky, were pallbearers. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Kremel and with the exception of a little over a year in San Antonio, she spent her entire life in Cistern. She had the distinction of being the first one to be baptized in the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Cistern. In 1909 she and Anton (A.V.) Psencik were married. Surviving are her husband of Cistern; three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Bradley of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Raymond (Anita) Brunner of Houston, and Mrs. Hershell (Bertha) Baily of San Antonio. Nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. John (Anastasia) Vinklarek of Cistern and Mrs. Emilia Spicak of Robstown; and one brother, Richard Kremel, who is critically ill and was unable to attend the funeral. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Lydia Vrana; two brothers, and three sisters, one of whom was Mrs. Ludwik (Hermina) Lidiak, who died January 22, 1968.
