~ RITES SET FOR STABBING VICTIM IN DeRIDDER Funeral services for Osby ASHWORTH, 25, of DeRidder, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Good Hope Baptist church with Rev. Guy Allen, pastor of the Second Baptist church of DeRidder officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope cemetery under direction of Hixson funeral home. Mr. ASHWORTH was stabbed to death early Saturday in an altercation at the Pines beer garden south of Leesville on the DeRidder highway. Another DeRidder man, Darnell Myers, is being held on a charge of murder in connection with the slaying. Myers, Beauregard sheriffs deputies said, was released from Angola in May of 1958 after serving 10 years on a murder conviction. Survivors of Ashworth are his wife, a step-son, Joseph Randall DRODDY; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby ASHWORTH; two brothers, Murphy and R. F. ASHWORTH, all of DeRidder and one sister, Mrs. Gladys DUNCAN of Roanoke, Texas. ~
