Virgil Ray Novy, 31, died in Salt Lake City, UT, on Wednesday, October 25, 1967. He was born August 4, 1936, in Chickasha, OK. Survivors include his parents; Mr. and Mrs. William Novy of Verden; one son, Russelly Lynn Novy of Verden; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Frances Wright of Fort Smith, AR, Mrs. Willie Mae Nichols, of Grand Blanc, MI, and Mrs. Charlotte Shubert of Commerce, GA; one brother, Charles Novy of Woodward, OK, and two half sisters, Mrs. Mildred Nigh of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Billie Jean Shore of Lawton. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Verden with Reverend Paul Hampton, pastor, officiating, assisted by Reverend Sam Anderson of Cache, OK, on October 29, 1967. He was laid to rest in the Verden cemetery. Casket bearers were Sidney Smith, Earl Venable, Charles Phelps, Ira Linn, Donald Henry and Ray Kortemeier. Music, "Beyond the Sunset", "In the Garden", and "Home Over There" were rendered by Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mrs. W.A. Finley, Mrs. Max Upchurch and Mrs. Clifford Nath, with Mrs. Donald Brown, pianist. Services were under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home of Verden. The Chickasha Star, November 2, 1967
