Funeral services for Charlotte DeNeil Shubert, 72, of Ninnekah, will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Charlotte DeNeil (Novy) Shubert was born December 16, 1946 at the General Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of William and Bessie (Dickenson) Novy. She died Monday, October 28, 2019 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Charlotte grew up in Verden and graduated from Verden High School in 1965. She met her husband, Clyde Shubert when he was stationed at Ft. Sill in the United States Army. They were married December 31, 1965 in Verden, Oklahoma and had 53 years together. Charlotte was a homemaker for most of her life, she raised their children and made a home for the family. She loved to sew and visit with her friends. She was a very loving mother and was very involved in Danny and Amanda’s sports and activities, including Girl Scouts. For 30 plus years, she and the family raised Netherland Dwarf and Holland Lop Rabbits showing them locally and nationally. Charlotte was a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, ANDRC and AHLRC for many years. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, Clyde Shubert, her sister, Mary Wright; half sister, Mildred Nigh, and her brothers, Charles Samuel Novy and Virgil Ray Novy. Survivors include her son, Danny Dewayne Shubert and wife, Shatisha; daughter, Amanda Brunner and husband, Daniel; sister, Willie Mae Nichols; half sister, Billie Jean Shore; brother-in-law, Larry Shubert; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Interment will be in Verden Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
