Bio

James Jasper Moore was born on 10 August 1839 in Winchester, Scott County, Illinois, to William Moore and Huldah Hunnicutt Moore. James married Cornelia Elizabeth "Nellie" Havens on 3 January 1861 in Scott County, Illlinois. There were nine known children born of their union. The children were: Mary Evaline (W. C. Moore), Martha L., Hulda A., Ura, Ira J., William J., James I., Oscar, and Cornelia. James Jasper Moore died on 26 January 1917, in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas of Lagrippe. He was buried in the W. W. Glover Cemetery on 26 January 1917, probably next to his wife who died in 1912. On his death certificate it states that he had lived in the state for forty-seven years, however if you look at the 1880 census, it was more like 39 or 40 years since all his children listed on that census were born in Illinois.
