Bio

The Norfolk Journal; Norfolk, Nebraska; Friday, April 9, 1897; Page 5 S. P. Covert died suddenly from paralysis at the home of his son, Jas. M. Covert, on Tuesday morning. He had not been feeling well for several days, but nothing serious was thought to be the matter with him. On Tuesday morning, having no appetite, he did not sit down with the rest of the family to breakfast, but stepped out doors, and when but a few feet from the door he was seen to fall. When picked up he was dead. He had previously suffered two strokes of the same dread disease, and while his death came almost without warning it was not entirely unexpected. Mr. Covert came to Norfolk some twelve or fourteen years ago, and was well-known and highly esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, and interment was made in Prospect Hill cemetery. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper.
