Fred N. Byerly was found dead early Saturday morning at his home in Norfolk. He was the owner of a farm south of Norfolk but made his home in Norfolk. The funeral will be held Wednesday with burial in Prospect Hill cemetery. He came to Norfolk in 1893 with his parents and has lived in or near Norfolk since that time. He was born on Aug. 6, 1879 at Petesburg. He was married on Nov. 26, 1903 to Miss Velzoe Beswick of Pierce. In 1912, he became the mail carrier for Route 2, Norfolk which he did until his death. His wife died Aug. 9, 1937. He was survived by 1 daughter Mrs. C. B. Murphy at Mission, Texas; 2 brothers: Frank at Neligh, Elmer at Chadron; 1 sister Mrs. Rose Rembert at Long Beach, California; 1 grandchild Louise Murphy at Mission, Texas.
