Mr. Frank Kresta, age 84 of Crockett, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Grace Care Center in Katy, TX. Frank was born on September 18, 1927 in Moulton, TX and graduated from Shiner High School. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea. In 1949, Frank moved to Houston to work at Shell Oil Company's Deer Park Manufacturing Complex where he worked until retiring in 1989. He married Lois Mildred Greb, originally from Crockett, TX on May 31, 1952. The couple lived in Houston for 45 years where they raised their two children. During this time, Frank was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, and active in Scouting. Frank was a lifetime member of the Houston Gun Collectors Association as well as an avid Aladdin lamp collector. After moving to Crockett in August 1997, Frank enjoyed retirement by cruising with his family to Alaska, the Panama Canal, and the Caribbean. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crockett. Survivors include his sister-in-law Mabel Greb, of Crockett; daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Kirk Kendrick, of Richmond; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Andrea Kresta, of Lonnerstadt (near Nuremberg, Germany); grandson Jerod Kendrick and wife Angela; grandchildren Vicky and Eric Kresta; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Lois Greb Kresta; parents Vlasta and Charlie Kresta and his 10 siblings (Bessie, Ludwig, Charlie, George, Lillian, Millie, Frances, Julia, Mary, and Dolly). Funeral Services for Mr. Frank Kresta will be held Sunday, July 8, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 801 East Goliad Ave, Crockett, TX with Brother Keeney Dickenson officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett.
