Vlasta Dollie Tilley TEXAS CITY - Vlasta Dollie Tilley, 75, of Texas City, passed away August 7, 2001 at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was horn January 28, 1926, in Shriner, Texas. She was a retired switchboard operator for Mainland Bank with 25 years of service, a volunteer at Danforth Hospital, Mainland Center Hospital and volunteer services, for TCHS Choir for many years and supporter for the Texas City Police Department K-9 Division. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ruth and Dickie Harper of Houston, Sharron Louise and Jack Montgomery of Cresson, Texas, Donna Kay Tilley and Bonnie Reed; son and daughter-in-law, Edward James and Denise Mathews Jr. of Texas City, sister Bessie Catron of Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Lois Kresta of Crockett, Texas; seven grandchildren Bill Pelzer, Jack Montgomery, Tracey Rushing, Wade Montgomery, Danielle Lanier, Deanna Lanier, Jamie Lanier and a very close young mentor, Derreck Lance Reed; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Dee Tilley, and grandson, Martin KirsMn Jr. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9KX) p.m. Friday, August 10, 2001, at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2001, at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Grisham officiating. Burial will follow services at Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock, Texas. Pallbearers will be Larry Bartlett, Aaron Bartlett, Derreck Lance Reed, Nicholas A Sawyer, Jack Montgomery, Rickie Williams, Edward Mathews and Honorary Pallbearer will be Dickie Harper.
