Bio

Dr. R A. Cole, the father of Mrs. Hightower, was the first white child born in Nashville, Tenn. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the U. S. Army for the Mexican War. At the close of the war he finished his medical training at Louisville, Ky., and during the Civil War served as physician and surgeon. Source: Yesterday in Hall County, Texas by Inez Baker 1940
