Bio

Apolenie was born in house number 136, Stara Ves, Moravia per her tombstone. Her parents were Josef and Terezie Ruzicka Marek. She married her first husband, Josef Hekera on 22 October 1877. Apolenie and Josef had four children born in Moravia. After Josef Hekera's death, Apolena married Josef Mazurek on 13 November 1881 in Moravia. Josef and Apolena's daughter, Franziska (Frances) was born on 19 October 1883 in Moravia. Frances passed away in July of 1983, a few months before reaching her 100th birthday. Schulenburg Sticker, 7 Dec 1917 Mrs. Joe Mazurek died at her home north of town Thursday morning at the age of 73. She was a pioneer of this section, and loved and respected by all who knew her. Joseph and Apolena Marek Mazurek adopted an orphan train rider: Josephine Mazurek Pavlu.
