Bedie Lunsford Cook of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away Tuesday April 21, 2015 at 96 years of age. She was born September 15, 1918 in Titus County to Charles Edgar and Lois (Moon) Lunsford. Bedie was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School Class of 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She leaves her children, Walter and Betty Cook of Gilmer, Texas, Rex and Karen Cook of Rockwall, Texas, and Margaret and David Shumate of Pittsburg, Texas; grandchildren, Terry and Kalista Cook, Scott and Kim Cook, Matt and Jill Cook, Kyle Cook, Blake Cook, Jonathan and Audrey Shumate and Stephanie and Casey Dildine; great grandchildren, Dwight, Tyler and Ashley Cook, Ethan, Greer and Cross Shumate, Wyatt, Kortlyn, Kassidy and Emile Dildine; brother, S.D. Lunsford of Weatherford ; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lunsford of Quitman; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Cook, two brothers, C.C. and Luke Lunsford and a sister Gertrude Rees. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, April 24, 2015 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel. Interment will follow at the East New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
