Bio

Funeral services for Ples Schysm, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hixon Funeral Home. Herbert Ingalis will officiate. Burial will be in Beauregard cemetery. Mr. Schysm died at 11 a.m. Tuesday in a local hospital. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Willard Schysm of Pitkin and Willie Schysm of Longville; four daughters, Mrs. Ollie Johnson and Mrs. Irene West, both of DeRidder, Mrs. Maggie Kennedy of Pitkin and Mrs. Mertie Lee of DeQuincy. Also, four stepsons, Buddy Perkins of Corpus Christi, Tex., Edgar and Plummer Carroll, both of DeQuincy, and Barney Carroll of Pitkin; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lula Doyle of DeRidder, Mrs. Lena Crain of Houston, and Mrs. O.V. Gilland of DeQuincy; 34 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
