Clark Smith Behen Clark, age 92, passed away on January 14, 2005, in Everett, Washington. He was born in Findlay, Illinois, on August 18, 1912, to Effie (Smith) and George Clark Behen. Clark was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He enjoyed his independence, telling stories of growing up on the farm, fixing cars, and working outdoors. He served in the National Guard and as a bugler in the U.S. army Coast Artillery. He was stationed at Fort DeRussy, Hawaii and Fort Sheridan, Illinois. For over 40 years, Clark owned and operated Clark S. Behen Automotive Service at 105th and Greenwood, Seattle. He was an honest and respected business man who is still remembered in the Greenwood neighborhood. Dorothy, his loving wife of 65 years, preceded him in death. He and Dorothy loved entertaining family and friends. Their gatherings were always filled with humor, wit, and great food. They also enjoyed their retirement years on the Skagit River, eagle watching, gardening, playing cards, entertaining, and working outdoors. Clark is survived by his children, Dorothy Kay (Dave), Bob (Judy), Carol (Dave), Mark (Sonja); his grandchildren, John, Shaun Domenic (deceased), Michele (Mike), Paul (Kris), Steven (Delly), Todd, Stephanie (Terry), Patrick, Cyndy, Kally, Justin; and his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Erika, Peter, Martin, Eric, Kelsey, Brianna, Dillon, and Carson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross. Memorial Mass and reception is at 10:30 a.m., January, 28, 2005, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 322 N. 175th Street, Shoreline, followed by interment at Holyrood Cemetery at 205 NE 205th, Shoreline.
