The Hillsboro Reporter Monday, March 11, 2002 THERA SMITH Thera Smith, 77, of Osceola died Thursday, March 7, at a Hillsboro nursing home. She was born May 28, 1924 in Bosque County, daughter of Luther Jesse and Clara Lee Williams, and had lived in the Whitney and Itasca areas most of her life. She was a Baptist. She first married Joseph Lawrence Stansberry in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Lester Smith October 1, 1982. Survivors include: her husband; four children and their spouses, Sheila Wheeler and husband, Richard, and Rickie Stansberry and wife, Terri, all of Tennyson, Joe Stansberry of Osceola and Jamie Stansberry and wife, Anette, of Fort Worth; two stepsons, Tommy Lee Smith of College Station and David Ray Smith and wife, Betty, of Parker Heights; one brother, D. B. Williams of Aquilla; one sister, Mary Jones of Killeen; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Greg Johnson officiating. Burial was at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery south of Laguna Park. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association of Texas, P. O. Box 26460, Austin 78755-0460.
