Edwin F. Parma went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2011 at the age of 84. He was born to Annie and Vaclav Parma on November 30, 1926 in El Campo, Texas. Ed will be remembered for his volunteer activities including being a founding member of the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department, a founding member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and his lifelong service to the Catholic Church. He graduated from St. Mary's University and served in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany at the end of WWII. Following his discharge Ed spent his professional career as a respected businessman in San Antonio. Ed's sense of humor, kindness to all and loving support of his family will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia; brothers, Louis and wife Christine, and George; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Parma, Imogene Foreman and husband Mike, and Kate Large; brother-in-law, Erwin Reinhard; sons, Christopher and wife Patricia, Stephen and wife Kimberly, Patrick, Michael and wife Virginia; daughters, Grace Howard and husband Roger, and Mary Burns and husband Matt; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family would like to thank Father Octavio Muguerza for his love and support and to Drs. Melba Beine, Peter Hollimon, Stephen Talley, Marta Dahiya, Nena Mirkovic, and David Altman for their wonderful expertise, care and support. Thanks, too, to all the parishioners of St. John Neumann Catholic Church for their powerful, unending prayers and devotion to Ed for the last year. We are extremely grateful.
