Bio
Daughter of Thomas and Nancy (Mrs. Bryant). Esther was a sister to : Thomas, Jesse, John and Harrison. Birth year based on pension documents from James Bryant (half-brother)- lists Esther at Sixty three years -documents were from 1832. According to the 1850 Morgan Co., Indiana census, Esther/Easter was born around 1773 in Virginia. She likely died between 1851 and 1859 Morgan co., Indiana She married Josiah Clendenen on June 20,1797 in Madison Co., Kentucky. By 1830 they have relocated to Indiana. According to land documents, Josiah owned land in Morgan Co., Indiana as early as 1834. Josiah died in 1854 and is buried in Mackenzie cemetery,where it is thought that Esther may also be buried beside him though there is no stone to show this, but another researcher noted that there was space beside him. According to obit finder by Mooresville Public Library online, Josiah's parents were James and Margaret (Anderson) Clendenen. Josiah's children were; George W., Mary, Nancy, William, Ruth, James B., Elizabeth, John, Rebecca and Charles. .... per pension request for James Bryant (#79631863), he lists Thomas Livingston and Ester Clendenon, his half-sister as witnesses.
