Bio
Dale Lloyd Rowe was born February 27, 1928 at Rowe Valley, Williamson County Texas to Manley Meggerson "Babe" Rowe and Agnes Mary Schaefer Rowe. He was the youngest of the Rowe brothers and known as "Bubba" Rowe to family and friends. His Texas roots were deep. Two of his forefathers, William Cooper and Charles Breen, were members of Stephen F. Austin's "Old 300" families of Texas. His great grandfather Shadrach Rowe had arrived in Texas by 1849 and subsequently started a sugar plantation in Brazoria County. Like his brothers before him, Dale served in the military and saw combat while assigned as a tank driver in the U.S. Army's 40th Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he briefly lived and worked in several locations around the country but returned to his native Texas to work as a house mover, truck driver, and in several other occupations during the course of his life. Dale died Thursday, March 31, 2011 in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 83 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers: Bill, Tom, Lee, Douglas, Jack, Kenneth, and one son, Dale Manley Rowe. He is survived by his children, Connie Rowe Neitsch and husband Carey Neitsch of Jarrell, Texas, David L. Brockett and wife Joan of Muenster, Texas, Judy McClanahan and husband Mike of San Bernardino, California, Debby Rowe (daughter-in-law) of Taylor, one sister Mary Ellen Rowe Reynolds and husband Dean of Bay City, Texas, and one sister-in-law Betty Jo Kropp Rowe of Taylor; 11 grandchildren: Jeffrey Neitsch, Sonya Neitsch Smith, Jennifer Neitsch Edgar, Eric Rowe, Darren Streit, Nicole Rowe Krueger, David K. Brockett, Christopher Brockett, Alex Brockett, Daniel Brockett, and Andy McClanahan. Dale also left behind 14 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and life long "pal" Harold Agee of the New Bern Community. The family would like to thank Scott and White Round Rock Dialysis, Park Valley Inn Health Center of Round Rock, St. David's Round Rock Hospital, his friends at the ambulance service, and Odyssey Hospice, all of whom took such great care of him during the last few years of his life. We especially wish to thank Chaplain Don Dye for his spiritual support and friendship to Dale. Pallbearers: Jeffrey Neitsch, Eric Rowe, Douglas Rowe Jr., Kenneth W. Rowe, Donald Lee Rowe, and Trey Krueger. Interment will be in Taylor City Cemetery, Taylor, Texas. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
