WILLIAM "BILL" CARL GRIFFIN , 60, of Trinity, Texas, was born April 4th, 1942 in Los Ang[e]les, California and passed away Monday, August 20, 2002 in Houston after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was a graduate of Hannahan High School in Charleston, South Carolina, served a term in Navy, and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, Arlington. Mr. Griffin served as a board member for the Aldine Independent School District, was active in the Inwood Dad's Club, and a proud member of the Garden Oaks Masonic Lodge #1306. He was a loving husband, father, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his brother David Airhart. Survivors: Loving wife of 40 years, Betty G. Griffin, daughter & son in law Betha and Jeff Storrs; son and daughter in law, William "Billy" II and Staci Griffin; daughter and son in law Belynda & Carlos Black; grandchildren: Rileigh & Mason Storrs; Cassidee and Reece Black, and Miranda Griffin. Parents Terry and Doris Airhart, brothers: Michael Griffin; brother & sister in law Terry and Anne Griffin, brother & sister in law Rory and Mary Ann McGarity, and numerous nieces/nephews and cousins. A celebration of Mr. Griffin's life will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at St. Timothy's United Methodist Church, 8787 N. Houston Rosslyn Rd. in Northwest Houston. A second memorial will be held Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the 1st United Methodist church in Trinity.
