William's parents were: James Henry Dollar 1829 – 1892 Jane Elizabeth Pledger 1826 – 1880 On Aug. 8, 1870, William, age 3, lived with his parents, James H. Dollar, age 41, & Jane E., 46, & siblings in Subdivision 141, Floyd Co, GA. The nearest post office was at Cave Spring. His father supported the family by farming. Their land was valued at $650 & a wealth of $500. James was born in AL; the rest of the family in GA. Williams's siblings were Thomas J., 19; Laura A., 18; Martha L., 17; Harriet S., 13; Margaret J., 8; & James F., 6. Middleton W. Dollar, age 18, whose relationship to the family isn't mentioned, lived with them & helped with the farming. ----- On June 19, 1880, William was 13 years old. He lived with his parents, James H. & Jane E., ages 51 & 54, in Hutchings, Polk Co, GA, where they were farming. His siblings were Mollie J., 18, & James F., 15. ----- Sometime after the birth of their daughter, Gracy, in December 1898, they moved to Grimes Co, TX, where Martha gave birth to their son, Wade, in December 1899. William married Martha "Mattie" Helen Cox in Marshall Co, AL on July 5, 1887. On June 4-8, 1900, William & his wife, Martha W., ages 23, were renting a farm in Justice Precinct 7, Grimes Co, TX. They had been married 12 years; Martha had given birth to 10 children - two had died. Their children were twins, Walter L. & Warren J., 10, Buford D., 8; Stacy, 6; Ludy, 5; Willie E., 3 (son); Gracy, 1; & Wade, 7 months. ----- On April 15, 1910, William & Martha, ages 43, were still renting a farm in Justice Precinct 7 in Grimes Co, TX. This record indicates that they were in TX for the birth of their son, Stacy, which would have been......... Their children were their twins, Walter H. & Warren, ages 20; Stacy, 16; Hugh, 14; Grace, 11; Sampson, 10; & Favy, 1, born in OK.
