Bio

Grace was the daughter of William Wade & Martha "Mattie" Helen (Cox) Dollar. Some of her siblings were: Walter Lee, Joseph Warren, Dee Buford, Stacy, Ludy, Hugh, William Edgar, Wade, Sampson, & Tavy Irene. Grace married Walter Robert Preston around 1936. They made their home in Achille and had two children: Jessie Dale & Porter. Walter began having respiratory problems around 1966, which worsened toward the end of summer in 1968. He was admitted to Sherman Community Hospital, and after a short stay he died at 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 31, from Respiratory Failure due to Obstructive Emphysema. He was 83 years old. Grace was in Wilson N. Jones Hospital when she died at 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 11, 1970, from Acute Coronary Insufficiency caused by Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease. She was 71 years old. Her son, Porter, was the informant on her death certificate. She was buried beside her beloved husband on Aug. 13.
