OBITUARY THE ALBIA UNION-REPUBLICAN Albia, Iowa Thursday, January 16, 1969 MRS. CHIDESTER, 79, DIES AT HER HOME Mrs. W. G. (Sarah Elizabeth) Chidester, 79, 1203 Washington Ave. E., died this morning at her home. She was born Feb. 28, 1889 in Davis County, the daughter of Pleasant Bolin and Minerva Jane Owens. She was married to William Grant Chidester on Feb. 14, 1905. He died in 1951. She was a member of the Albia Rebekah Lodge and the First Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Maxine Irwin of Batavia; two sons, Basil and Glen Chidester of Albia; a step-son, Clay Chidester of Montebello, Calif.; a step-daughter and a foster son, Harold Boswell who made his home with Mrs. Chidester. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Stella Proctor of Ash Grove; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Rev. C. Miller Hurst officiating. Burial will be in Oak View Cemetery.
