Bio

Imogene (Jean) Sieg Services to celebrate Jean Sieg life were held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Henderson Hills Baptist Church under the direction of Crawford Family Funeral Service in Edmond. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery in Mangum. Imogene (Jean) Lowe Crisp Sieg of Edmond, Oklahoma was called home by our Lord on Thursday, March 24,2011. She was born on July 3, 1925 to Gus and Merral Crisp in Mangum, OK. She graduated from Mangum High School and went to work at Altus Air Force Base, where she met her future husband, Air Force Lieutenant Glenn D. Sieg. Their son, Stan, was born in June 1948. Jean was the epitome of a supportive military spouse, accompanying her husband to Wichita Falls, and San Antonio, Texas; Yukota, Japan and Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Jean served as secretary to the Director of Nursing at the Davenport Osteopathic Hospital, in Davenport, Iowa, a job she dearly loved. She and Glenn retired and moved to Edmond in 1975. She was very active in Henderson Hills Baptist Church, serving others and supporting many friends. She supported her husband to attain the rank of Major and raised her son to achieve the rank of Brigadier General and Senior Executive Service with the FAA. Jean helped raise three beautiful granddaughters: Jaclyn Meeker, Edmond; Shannon Sieg of Edmond and Shelby Sieg, of Las Colinas, Texas. Jean is survived by her son and wife, Elizabeth, with whom she lived for the past several years. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, grandson-in- law,Charlie Meeker, and the joy of her life, her great-grandson, Blake Allen Meeker, age 21 months. She is also survived by her nephews: Rich and Trey Crisp and cousins: Dwayne Howard and LaVon and Wanda Wheeler. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents; brother Richard and sister-in-law, Phyllis.
