Bio

This is my great aunt. Frances Kubena, 69, passed away March 30, 1969 at Hibbing, Minnesota. She was born August 15, 1889 in Czechoslovakia to Sylvester and Veronika Zetocha. She came to the US in 1903. In 1918 she was united in marriage to Frank Kubena in Wahoo, Nebr., where they resided before moving to Meadowlands, MI, in 1930. In 1951 they moved to Hibbing, where she was employed at the Hibbing General Hospital for 15 years. Funeral services were held at the St. Leo's Catholic Church of Hibbing. The Dougherty Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Surviving are her husband, Frank; 4 daughter's, Mrs. Cyril (Cecelia) Mancheski of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Mrs. Leono (Lillian) Larva of Meadowlands, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Butchert and Mrs. Walker (Marion) Prebich, both of HIbbing; 3 sons, George of Los Angeles, Calif., Ernest with the USAF in Vietnam, and Jerry of Hibbing. She is also survived by 5 sisters, 3 brothers, 16 grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Frances Kubena was preceded in death by a son, Raymond. WBFA Lodge Meadowlands No. 65 of Meadowland, MI, extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
