Parzettie "Pat" (Peace) Parker Jones Services for Parzettie (Pat) Jones, 89, of Lufkin, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2006, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Knight Cemetery. Mrs. Jones was born June 13, 1917, in Shelby County, Texas, the daughter of the late Alillian (Courtney) and James Matterson Peace. She died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in a Lufkin hospital. Mrs. Jones was a former waitress. She was also a homemaker and a beloved mother and grandmother. She was a member of O'Quinn Baptist Church. A resident of Lufkin since 1953, Mrs. Jones had also resided in Shelby County and Houston. Survivors include her son, Royce L. Parker, Sr., of Nacogdoches; four grandsons, Royce Leon Parker, Jr., of Fort Worth, Christopher Daniel Parker, Steven Franklin Ross, both of Lufkin, and Thomas Ellsworth Ross of Cushing; two great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Lyndol Ross, on February 6, 1996; by granddaughter, Kristen; daughter-in-law, Judy Parker; and by two brothers, James and Matt Peace. Pallbearers will be Royce Leon Parker, Jr., Christopher Daniel Parker, Steven Franklin Ross, Thomas Ellsworth Ross, Ronnie Dean Peace and Lewis Ray Ross, Jr. Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Directors Published in The Lufkin Daily News on July 27, 2006
