Graveside services for Royce Leon Parker Sr., of Nacogdoches, will be held in the Gann Cemetery in Lufkin. Mr. Parker was born June 13, 1940 in Shelby County, Texas, the son of the late Parzetti (Peace) and Elsworth Parker. He passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in a Nacogdoches hospital. Mr. Parker was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a good man who loved his granddaughters. He was retired from J. E. Kingham Construction Company as a carpenter. He was very passionate about wood crafts and carpentry. He always had something good to say about everyone and never met a stranger. He enjoyed estate sales and finding good treasures. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his son, Royce Leon Parker Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Daniel and Laura Parker; grandchildren, Desarae and Erin Parker; sisters, Becky Flora and Margie Simms; a niece that he loved like a daughter, Jackie Jo Allen Phillips; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Allen Parker; and sister, Vickie Ross. Services placed in trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
