NEWPORT NEWS - Mary Orr Wallace, 84, died Nov. 12, 1996, in Newport News. Shewas a native of Marietta, Ga., and a resident of Newport News for 43 years. She was a member of Denbigh Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Oscar L. Wallace Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Stewart Sr. and Linda M. Wallace of Powhatan and Oscar L. Jr. and Linda W. Wallace of Catonsville, Md.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra W. and William R. Benvie of Davenport, Fla.; two grandsons, John Stewart Wallace Jr. of Powhatan and Timothy R. Wallace of Baltimore, Md.; and one granddaughter and her husband, Kimberly W. and Bruce Ashby. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Denbigh Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jerry Helms. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Denbigh Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
