Mrs. Ona McCain Dies; Funeral Set Thursday Mrs. Ona McCain, 72, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Sloan Nursing Home in Lubbock where she had been a patient-resident for about two and a half months. Her Childress address was 105 Avenue H., Se. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Childress Church of Christ by the minister, Jack R. Hackworth. Interment will be in Childress cemetery. Pallbearers will be R.L. Miller, Travis McCain, Dan Stanford, Charles R. Scott, Jr., Raymond C. Francis and Ernest Jones. A resident of Childress for about 45 years, Mrs. McCain was born September 18, 1890, at Smithville, Ark. Her husband, Andy McCain, died here December, 1960. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are one son, Charles Edward McCain of Lubbock; one daughter Mrs. Ruby Perkins of Greenville; one brother Fred Sanders of California; three sisters, Mrs. Pat Fisher of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Nell Wollbright of the Philippines, and Mrs. Nettie Davis of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
