Civil War, Company I, 4th Iowa Infantry, Civil War. Member of the GAR. Levi T. Greenlee, age 20, a native of Virginia residing in Wayne County, IA, enlisted 28 Oct 1861, mustered in 9 Nov 1861, re-enlisted and re-mustered 25 July 1864, promoted to Sergeant 19 Dec 1864, mustered out 24 July 1865 at Louisville, KY. Morris Greenlee age 27, same residence and nativity (possibly a brother), enlisted 18 Aug 1862 into the same company and discharged for disability 8 Sept 1863 at Black River Bridge, Mississippi. --by Sherida 2011 Birth and death dates and places are from his Death Certificate. Middle name is from delayed birth cert for son Everett McCown Greenlee per informant older brother Charles Oscar Greenlee.
