Obituary Mary Jezek Published: May 13, 2009 Services for Mary Elizabeth "Cutie" Ellington Jezek, 92, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Moody Cemetery. Mrs. Jezek died Monday, May 12, in a local nursing center. She was born Jan. 9, 1917 in Moody to William Harvey and Mary Elizabeth (Stephens) Dowell, She is 10th of 11 children. She attended Willow Grove High School. She married James Marshall Ellington on Jan. 24, 1932, in Moody and he preceded her in death. She later married Henry Jezek on July 30, 1979, in Temple and he preceded her in death. She was a longtime resident of Troy. She worked as a machinist at Curtis Shoe Factory for 10 years and American Desk for 11 years before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Moody and a lifetime member of I.A.M. Union. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Ellington, and a daughter, Barbara Hilliard. Survivors include seven daughters, Jimmye Kelly of Plano, Margaret Hildebrandt of Moulton, Helen Hagler of Corsicana, Betty Vaughan of Mexia, Linda Hammer of Red Oak, Jonni Ten Hoeve of Temple and Fleshia Sebesta of Pflugerville; a sister, Jessie Mars of Moody; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Scott & White Hospice. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home
