Bio
O. B. WORLEY Services are scheduled in First United Methodist Church for O. B. Worley 76, who died Tuesday at his home. Rev. Bob Sawyer will officiate and eulogy will be by Clarence Henderson. Burial will be in Kermit Cemetery under direction of Cooper Funeral Chapel. Worley was born June 20, 1916 in Rayland, Texas and was married to Janie M. Zhanel on Mar.29, 1941. Worley was one of the charter members of the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Kermit Downtown Lions and former secretary treasurer of the Winkler County Country Club. Worley was a former member of the Kiwanis of Big Spring and was past president of the Texas Panhandle Petroleum Accountants Society. He was appointed to the Texas Credit Union Advisory Commission by Gov. Price Daniels and later was named president of the group by Gov. John Connally. Survivors include his wife of Kermit; a son, John B.Worley of Austin; a daughter, Glenda Mitchell of Kermit, a brother, L.D. Worley of Norman, OK.; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. O B's name was recorded as Elzy and Elzie on Texas Vital records
