Bio
Georgia was born January 27, 1924 at Abie to Edward and Jennie (Voboril) Zeleny and she graduated from Octavia High School. On April 8, 1942 she married William Hoskovec.and in 1961 they moved to Schuyler and owned and operated Hoskovec Grocery Store. In 1981 Georgia closed the business and married Elmer Svatora September 18, 1981. Georgia was active in the Meals on wheels program and the Senior Center as well as volunteering at the Golden LivingCenter Nursing Home in Schuyler and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and the Women of Divine Mercy. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fishing and camping and kept a daily journal for years and years. Georgia died March 16, 2011 at Golden LivingCenter in Schuyler at the age of 87. Georgia is survived by her two sons, Eugene (Mary Kay) Hoskovec of Glendale, AZ and Michael (Peggy) Hoskovec of Cambridge, NE; five stepchildren, Michael (Carol) Svatora of Newark, OH, Steven (Diann) Svatora of Schuyler, Thomas Svatora of Richland, Timothy Svatora of Schuyler and Dianne Heppner of Norfolk; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one brother, Ed (Rita) Zeleny of Morse Bluff; two sisters, Mildred Berglund of David City and Maymie (Louis) Plasek of Quebec, Canada. She is preceded in death by her husbands, William Hoskovec ( 12/27/1978) and Elmer Svatora (2/10/2004); great grandson, Cameron Snyder. Family suggest memorials to Senior Center or Golden LivingCenter Schuyler. Funeral lunch will be served at the St. Mary's Social Center following the burial in St. Mary's Cathoilc Cemetery in David City.
