Bio

Cora Elizabeth Strouss was born in Condit Township, Champaign County, Illinois, the daughter of John Strouss and Mary Addie Campbell. On April 12, 1891, she was married to Elijah John Yates at Fisher, Champaign County, Illinois and three children were born to this union: Preston Andrew, Everett Fernald and Ethel Grace. Cora was later married to Albert G. Hyland and Frank S. Brown. She died from injuries sustained from a moving locomotive at a crossing in Des Moines, Iowa on January 2, 1928.
