Bio

Hubert A. Shawn, 71, of Lake Colorado City died Saturday at Mitchell County Hospital. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Westbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt officiating. He was born March 27, 1915 in Paradise, Texas. He was a retired welder and former restaurant owner. He married Mattie Louise Shawn on April 10, 1935 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Louise of Lake Colorado City; two sons, Hubert Chestley Shawn of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Ronnie Alvin Shawn of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Arnnie Lee Turpen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Charley Shawn of San Antonio; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
