He was retired from the Celanese Corporation after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lemon Kennedy, Roanoke; two daughters, Patricia K. Kingery, Roanoke, Janice Ledford, Charleston, W.Va.; two sons, Darrell Kennedy, Carleton, Mich., Charlie H. Kennedy Jr., Michigan; two brothers, Cecil Kennedy, Salem, Conner Kennedy, Coeburn, Va.; five sisters, Hazel Hall, Detroit, Mich., Virginia Hall, Baltimore, Md., Edna Lawson, Coeburn, Wanda Lawson, Flat Rock, Mich., Frances Stapleton, Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
