Bio

Hastings resident, Paul E. Penas, 73, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011 at his home. Paul was born February 4, 1938 in Ord, Nebraska to Edward William & Agnes Elizabeth (Hruby) Penas. Paul graduated from Ord High School and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he received his Bachelor's Degree in agriculture. He worked as a research agronomist for Kansas State University from 1967 through 1979, and then worked for Wilfarm Ag-Chem as a salesman from 1979 through 1999. He moved to Hastings from Holdrege in 1993. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Third Degree. Paul was an avid Big Red fan, loved to play cards and read. Paul was preceded in death by: parents; and brother-in-law, Fred Ross. Survivors are: Sister: Dorothy Ross – Longmont, CO Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Edwin J. & Lois Penas – Lincoln, NE Richard J. & Linda Penas – Columbus, NE Numerous Nieces & Nephews
