Vera Francis Scott, 93, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, in Vernon. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Dea and the Rev. Bud Kidwell officiating. Burial will be in Goodlett Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Scott was born March 16, 1910, in Achille, Okla. She married William Mack "Bill" Scott on Feb. 7, 1925, in Kirkland. Survivors include two daughters, Dorotha Gobin of Houston and Lanora Ainsworth of Trinity; seven sons, Durwood Scott of Goodlett, Robert Scott of Prescott, Ark., Winfred Scott of Dripping Springs, Billy Scott of Hereford, Alvin Scott of George West; Kerry Scott of Amarillo and Calvin Scott of Loop; two sisters, Billy Jean Goree of Halfway and Frankie Marquart of Quanah; four brothers, Leon Pruitt of Quanah, Leo Pruitt of Tennessee, Bobby Pruitt of Vernon and Eddie Pruitt of Plainview; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
