Bio
Kathrine (Kay) Kubiak went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2011 after celebrating her 100th birthday in November. She was born in Bremond, TX and was one of ten children. Kathrine was a devoted parishoner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church for over 50 years and an active member of the Altar Society and Golden Youth groups. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, children and animals. Kathrine is preceeded in death by her parents; John and Hedwig Syzdek, and her husband of 38 years, Kie Kubiak. She is survived by her brother Bruno Syzdek, sister Cecilia Lasinsky, step-son Eddie Kubiak, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Eva Podraza, a special friend, for her loving care of Kay for so many years. Visitation will be Friday, March 4th at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, the vigil and rosary service will start at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 5th at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road, Houston 77092. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
