She was born December 1, 1927 in Frydek, Austin County, Texas to John and Annie Kutra Bogar. On June 3, 1931, was a happy day that Louis was born, and also sad as Annie died soon after childbirth from postpartum hemorrhage. Jan Bogar, knew that he wouldn't be able to take care of his young children and still work the farms, so his wife's family offered to help. The oldest child, Albina, 5 yrs. was given to Albina Kutra and Frank Vancik to be taken care of. Lillie, 3 yrs., and baby Louis was taken care of by their grandparents, Anna Vesely and John Kutra in Frydek. Jan heard of a single woman in Moulton in Lavaca County, Texas. A set of twins, Frances and Frank Bogar were born June 15, 1934 at the Shiner Hospital. Sometime in 1937, the family moved back to Frydek in Austin County, Texas, where John rented a home and land to raise crops as he was a farmer.
