Wife of Zed Wilson Mattie Annie Tippie was the daughter of John Sherman Tippie and Sarah Annie Gardner. She was born 2 Dec 1902. On her son Marvin Johnson's birth certificate, she said she was born in Hamilton, presumably Hamilton County where she and her parents were enumerated on 11 May 1910 when she was seven years old. However, Geneanet says she was born in De Leon, Comanche County where her parents were living on 20 June1900, just two years before she was born. On 14 June 1919, she married Allie Johnson in Wichita County, Texas, most likely Electra where they were enumerated in 1920 as were her parents. Allie was working in the oil field with casing. In 1930 they were living in Big Spring, Howard County, and Allie was a Driller in the oil field. They had three children – Armilda, age eight, Marvin, six, and Pauline, 14 months. Unfortunately Allie died on 28 Dec 1933 in Overton in Rusk County. He was only 35. Mattie soon remarried on 6 March 1935 to Hollice Roscoe Lewis in Smith County. They were married by Rev. Henry E. Floyd, a Methodist Minister. Hollice had been previously married to Addie Viola Dandridge whom he married on 1 Aug 1917 in Ellis County, Texas and with whom he had three known children. Presumably Hollice and Viola were divorced because a day after his remarriage, she married on 7 March 1935 to Vernon E. Faulkner who used the name Buck Faulkner on his marriage license. They were married by J. W. Arnold probably in Smith County where the license was issued. Hollice and Mattie had one known child together – a girl they named Gertrude Ann Lewis, born on 16 Jan 1937 in Smith County. Sometime after Hollis' death on 7 Sept 1944, Mattie married Zed Wilson who's wife Grace had died in 1941.
