Antonette "Ann" Straten, 62, of Elm Mott, passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with the Rev. Will Straten and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. Isidore Rozycki, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Ann was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Albert Carl and Willie Mae (Jupe) Weissinger. Ann graduated from LaVega High School in 1967 and on Nov. 9, 1968, she married Herman E. "Ed" Straten in Bellmead. She worked as a cashier for Sam's Club in Bellmead for the past 20 years. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, where she also served as a CCE Teacher. Ann always loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Herman, preceded her in death on July 11, 1997. Survivors include daughter, Candice Moore and husband, Grant, of Moody; son, Nickolas Straten and wife, Amanda, of Gholson; sisters, Debora Vrba and husband, Clyde, of Leroy, and Carolyn Thompson and husband, Charles, of Waco; grandchildren, Cheyanne Moore, Desiree Martinez, Hunter Straten and Rylee Straten; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
