Bio

Lorraine Marie Hottovy, 82, of Dwight, died Feb. 20 in Lincoln. Hottovy was born Jan. 28, 1929 to Sylvester Anton and Theresa Ann (Benes) Walla and raised on a farm near Valparaiso. She attended a country grade school and then Dwight Assumption Catholic High School, graduating in 1946. She was employed by a grocery store after high school. She married Charles Daniel Hottovy on Feb. 9, 1948 at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy. She was an active member of the Dwight Assumption Catholic Church and the Altar Society and Catholic Workman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister-in-law, Susan Walla; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Adolph and Emma Hottovy, Lucille and Francis Eiting, Agnes Fiala, Marcella Hottovy, Reynold and Dorothy Hottovy, Richard Hottovy and Leonard Klein. She is survived by her children and spouses, Duane Hottovy of Dwight, Bonita and Robert Knievel of Frederick, Md., Joyce and David Policky of Lincoln and Charles Hottovy, Jr. of Dwight; seven grandchildren, Rachelle and Mark Schofield, Erica Knievel, Steven Knievel, Michaela and Kevin Fay, Jeffrey and Richelle Policky, Kyle Policky and Eric Policky; her brother, Reynold Walla of Valparaiso; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Emil Hottovy of David City, Raymond Hottovy of Morris, Minn., Rose Klein of David City, Raymond Fiala of Wahoo and Rose Hottovy of David City; and many friends. Rosary prayer service set for 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Feb. 26 at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight with Father Sean Timmerman as celebrant. Graveside service and interment will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Dwight. Casket bearers are Mark Schofield, Steven Knievel, Jeffrey Policky, Kyle Policky, Eric Policky and Kevin Fay.
