Bio

Roy E. Kokel, 92, of Waco, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Woodway. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Born in Walberg, Texas, Roy spent over 40 years as a barber and was co-owner of Diamond Point Barber Shop in Waco. He was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church. His wife, Flora A. Kokel, preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2001. Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Jensen and husband, Damian, of Waco; son, Roy E. Kokel Jr., of Allen; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Earnest Kokel Jr.; and several nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
