Cecil Joe Littlejohn, 77, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, in Arlington. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, the Rev. Jerry Locke, pastor of Lake Worth Baptist Church, officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to American Heart Association , 1-800-242-8721. Cecil was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Ellis County, between Milford and Frost, to Joseph Marion and Janie Lorene Littlejohn. He graduated from Azle High School in 1949. Cecil joined the U.S. Navy on March 1, 1951, serving on the USS Onslow until 1955. He married Gerry McElyea DeAlba on July 7, 1984. A 35-year employee of General Motors in the material/scheduling department, Cecil retired in 1991. For more than 20 years, he was involved with youth sports teams in Arlington. He originated the baseball league for the YMCA, and coached for the YMCA and the Optimist Club. In addition to youth sports, he loved Corvairs, big band music, John Wayne movies, Choctaw, and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents and youngest son, Stuart. Survivors: Beloved wife, Gerry Littlejohn; children and grandchildren, Joe and Alcira Littlejohn, Missy and Steve Tester of Arlington, David and Melanie Littlejohn and their children, Ben and Shelby of Round Hill, Va.; stepchildren, John "Tony" DeAlba, Jay and Sheryl DeAlba, and Julie Hindman, all of Arlington, and their children, Toni Ann and Joe Mike Martinez, John DeAlba Jr. and Meme of Grand Prairie, Jessica and Julius Ervine of Abilene, and Leigh Ann Hindman of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Anthony, Alyssa, Trent, Ashten, Tarynn, DJ, Trey, Audrey and Elisha; sisters, Ann Hagmann and Mary Jernigan of Fort Worth; and brothers, Sam Littlejohn of Saginaw and Jim Littlejohn of Gualala, Calif.
