Rosa A. Wilson, 88, of Wahoo died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo. She was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Ringgold, Ga., to Michael and Clara (Dusatko) Coufal. She grew up on a farm south of Brainard and was a 1939 graduate of East Butler High School. She married Anton Novak on Dec. 2, 1939, in Brainard. They lived on a farm near Brainard and raised five children. During this time, Rosa also had a business of baking wedding cakes for many couples. They moved into Brainard in 1975 where they operated the Novak Gas Station. In 1976, she moved to Omaha and was married to Marvin Wilson on June 23, 1979. She worked at Avolon and later at Eppley Air Field. In 2005, they moved to Valparaiso. She was a former parishioner at St. Francis Catholic Church at David City where she was a member of the altar society. She also had been a member of the Carter Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Survivors include: her children, Joe and Joan Novak of Lexington, Helen Samek of Lincoln, Gladyce Bouc of Lincoln and Don and Joette Novak of Brainard; a sister-in-law, Helen Novak of David City; 19 grandchildren and many stepgrandchildren and great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, three granddaughters, two sons-in-law, two sisters and two brothers. The memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha. Memorials may be given in care of the family. Printed Fremont Tribune, February 16, 2011.
